The premise of the Ministry is that discipline should really be a nurturing endeavour, that parents have alternatives other than the use of corporal punishment, and that all people have a responsibility to promote this campaign to elicit positive outcomes within all families.
The future of the Ministry relies on the participation of all who are able to disseminate the message that children need to be nurtured intelligently. No child need be brought up in an environment fearing physical pain and distress. If you are in a position to contribute to the spread of this message, please invest the time and take a stance for a good cause.
There are those households perpetuating the travesty of continuing physical punishment on their offspring. The children in those households have no recourse and no way out. Physical pain is inflicted and their emotional distress is met with apathy, or worse still a misguided notion that ‘sparing the rod will spoil the child.’
